Respite
A ‘respite option’ is any support or service that helps you to have a break from caring for a person with a disability.
At Coronation Lodge Rest Home we provide the support required to carry on with dignity, with the same love and care a family member would provide.
This service include:
-
accomodation and meals/snacks
-
personal care (if needed)
-
medication (if needed)
-
emergency/acute medical care as required (eg. if a GP needed for emergency reasons, or an ambulance neededto be called)
-
provision of activities
-
access to your General Practitioner(you remain under their care)
Day Care
Day care services include meals, activities, and attention from trained staff.
Day care can give carers a needed rest, and those being cared for or living alone at home a welcome change of scene and the chance to interact with others.

Rehabilitation / Physical Therapy
We provide our residents with Physical Therapy to make sure there’s always something exciting to look forward to at Coronation Lodge Rest Home.
We use Otago Exercise Program (OEP) which is developed to reduce falls in older persons. The OEP consists of 17 strength and balance exercises and a walking program, performed three times a week by the older adult.
Palliative Care
Palliative care involves supporting and helping the person to live as comfortably and fully as possible.
A ‘life-limiting illness’ is one that cannot be cured and may at some time result in the person dying (whether that is years, months, weeks or days away).
Palliative care involves providing assistance at all stages of the life-limiting illness.

Supported Assisted Living
Coronation House provides supported living including meals, laundry, and cleaning service to clients. They can have as little or as much participation in Rest Home recreation activities as they wish.
Personal care assistance is not provided by the rest home (eg shower assist) but this can be organised for you and provided by an outside agency
Commitment to quality
We are a 22 bed facility. This means our home has a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We do not see ourselves as an institution but more as a family home and we do not have any of the impersonal issues that can sometimes be associated with larger homes.
We are a Stage Two Rest Home with a Contract to provide services to the elderly. We are a 24 hour, 7 day a week service. We have staff onsite at all times and a Registered Nurse either on duty or available on call for staff (by mobile phone) 24 hours a day.
